The Foundation for Jewish Education seeks to revitalize Jewish identity among unaffiliated College students and young adults, through Jewish educational initiatives designed for Jews of all backgrounds.
The goal of our programming is to profoundly strengthen Jewish Life by enabling those, that do not strongly identify with their heritage, to experience how Judaism is indeed relevant in their lives.
The unaffiliated College students and young adults attend a retreat with Heritage Retreat to learn about Judaism and Jewish Roots. Success with each individual at this pivotal stage of life has a direct effect on how they make crucial choices in their life.
By reconnecting in the right direction, we will accrue dividends for generation to come.
I was born in Poland before World War II. My family and I fled to Siberia during the War. But before fleeing to Siberia, we lived among the gentiles in different cities until we arrived in Siberia during the war. From those negative experiences, there awakened in me a tremendous passion for the Jewish people and Judaism.
I experienced Anti-Semitism in the many countries we wandered through, but this nurtured in me a passion for the eternity of the Jewish People.
Today’s college students are searching for meaning.
They are exploring their personal and professional identities, religious and cultural values, and relationships with others. As part of their journeys, they are asking big questions about themselves, each other, the world, and “G-d” Jewish identity.
Students selected from across the denominational spectrum, participate in an intensive one week program. Scholars join in interactive seminars, covering a range of ideas in Judaism, enabling participants to see how Judaism speaks to their lives. Additionally, the Shabbat, textual learning and discussion groups provide meaningful engagement in Jewish traditions and values.
Students Connect with lay leaders and educators, providing positive role modeling and fostering genuine Jewish leadership.
Looking To The Future – Our Vision
The Foundation For Jewish Education serves college students and young adults who are not familiar with Judaism. With so much happening now on college campuses, the challenge to sustain Jewish tradition and identity is difficult. I, urge you to join The Foundation For Jewish Education in giving this generation of college students and young adults the opportunity to participate and connect with their Jewish roots and Jewish heritage.
The unaffiliated College students and young adults attend a retreat with minimal charge to learn about Judaism and Jewish roots. They start a new life of Jewish learning and community involvement. By reconnecting these college students in the right direction will accrue dividends for generations to come and will provide us in the future with Jewish Leadership.
The foundation is making plans for the future of the Jewish Community, therefore we are asking for your financial support to change lives, to instill pride among the Jewish people and to pass our traditions down from generation to generation.
